Angling help needed!

Volunteer opportunity for 2 fly fishers on Saturday 5th August from 9.30am to approx 2.30pm

The Newton Abbot Fishing Association (NAFA) is holding an Angling Participation Day on 5th August at
its lakes complex in Newton Abbot. NAFA have kindly offered us a location at the lakes where we
can introduce visitors to some of the techniques and skills associated with fly fishing, talk about
fishing equipment, advise upon the wonderful fly fishing opportunities available on the Teign and
surrounding area, help people have a go at making a few casts and perhaps even try to catch a perch
on an artificial fly.
Geoff Stephens, co project officer and qualified fly fishing coach and instructor is leading the
project contribution and he needs some help on the day!
Are there at least two fly fishers out there who would like to assist Geoff on the day. No great
expertise is needed, just the ability to show visitors the equipment, explain what fly fishing is,
answer any questions as best as possible, help visitors make a few fly casts. Help erect a gazebo and
take down. Engage and have some fun.
The project supplies all the fishing equipment but if volunteers would like to use their own they are
welcome to do so.
The project will be happy to pay mileage expenses.
If you are able to help or know any fly fisher who would like to please contact Geoff on the usual
email or 07749 867393.
Thank you.
