leaping to success!

This summer has been a resounding success for Med Theatre, who have produced a new short storytelling performance inspired by their 2021 sell-out performances of ‘Salmon’.

Called ‘LEAP’, this performance tells the abridged version of Salmon, a story about people, our rivers, and the story of human kindness. A number of performances of LEAP took place over the summer at different locations, with the aim of providing not just an enjoyable experience for all, but as a way of explaining the plight of the salmon and the modern day issues they face.

In total, LEAP was performed to well over 320 people. Around 40% of these audiences were 16 and under, with some excellent feedback received, especially from parents with young children. It is by engaging the younger generation that we hope to inspire them to help look after our rivers for generations to come.

Our thanks to Med Theatre and all the young artists involved for their wonderful work, for taking the message to wider audiences, and for helping us to raise awareness of the issues affecting salmon. Our thanks also to the National Trust for use of the grounds at Castle Drogo, a perfect setting for LEAP.
